On June 6, the city of Ganja (Republic of Azerbaijan) hosted the 76th meeting of the Council of Heads of Customs Services of the Member States of the Commonwealth of Independent States (CSTC CIS).

The meeting was attended by the Chairman of the State Revenue Committee Daniyar Zhanalinov.

As a result of the meeting, decisions were made regarding the optimization of the structure of the unified Commodity Nomenclature for Foreign Economic Activity of the CIS, aimed at the formation of more reliable customs statistics. The issue of accelerating the process of domestic procedures for agreeing on a draft Agreement on the procedure for affixing seals and stamps by customs authorities of the CIS countries was also discussed. The Technical Conditions for Information Interaction, developed for the purpose of implementing the Regulations on the exchange between the customs authorities of the CIS member states of information about goods in respect of which violations of intellectual property rights have been established, were signed.

The meetings were also attended by the first heads of the customs services of Azerbaijan, Belarus, Kyrgyzstan, Russia, Tajikistan and Uzbekistan, as well as representatives of the Eurasian Economic Commission.

The main activities of the CIS SRTS are the determination of priority areas in the field of customs, assistance in the convergence and harmonization of customs legislation, coordination of practical interaction between customs and other interested national services and departments of states, assistance in the implementation of interstate and intergovernmental decisions in the field of customs.
